About this orthodontic blog?

I started this orthodontic blog in late 2013. It has been very popular, with over 4 million hits since then.   This interest convinced me to make this a source of information and discussion relevant to everybody interested in orthodontics. My blog is becoming quite extensive. If you want to look up a particular subject, click on the relevant search word in the box.

I have persuaded Professor Padhraig Fleming to be a co-editor of this blog. Our details are below.

Something about us

Kevin is an Emeritus Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Manchester, UK. He has worked as a clinical orthodontist, teacher, and researcher for about 35 years. His research was directed at the outcome of orthodontic treatment using randomised trial methodology and has been included in several systematic reviews.  He has given many keynote lectures at international conferences.  He has been awarded the Northcroft Memorial and Ballard Lectures of the British Orthodontic Society, the Dewel and Turpin (twice) awards,  the Louise Ada Jarabak Memorial International Teachers and Research Award, and the Salzmann Prize by the American Association of Orthodontists.

Padhraig is Professor of Orthodontics at The School of Dental Science at Trinity College, Dublin. He also works in private practice on a part-time basis.  He is an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, British Dental Journal, Journal of Dentistry, and Progress in Orthodontics and is on the editorial board of numerous other journals. He has published over 130 peer-reviewed papers and has received the Chapman Prize from the British Orthodontic Society and the B.F. and Helen E. Dewel Award from the American Association of Orthodontists. He has co-authored three successful orthodontic textbooks: ‘Clinical Cases in Orthodontics’, ‘Functional Appliances:Theory and Practice’,  ‘Fixed Orthodontic Appliances: A practical guide’.
